Embossed nutcolumn, also known as riveting stud or nut column, is a fastener used in sheet metal, sheet metal, chassis and cabinet. The shape of riveting nut column is hexagonal at one end and cylindrical at the other. There is a knife retracting groove between hexagonal and cylindrical, and its inner shape is internal thread. The hexagonal head is pressed into thin plate by press. In the preset hole (the diameter of the preset hole is generally slightly larger than the cylindrical outer diameter of the riveting stud), the plastic deformation around the hole occurs, and the deformed part is squeezed into the retracting slot of the riveting stud, so that the riveting stud is riveted to the thin plate, thus forming an effective internal thread on the thin plate.

Pressure riveting nut column can be divided into four types: quick-cutting steel through-hole pressure riveting nut column SO type, stainless steel through-hole pressure riveting nut column SOS type, Fast-Cutting steel blind-hole pressure riveting nut column BSO type and stainless steel blind-hole pressure riveting nut column BSOS type, which are applied in different environments.
There is no specific national standard for riveting nuts. The early producers came from the United States and gradually formed today's industry standard after being introduced into China. Most of the domestic producers come from Suzhou in Jiangsu Province and Dongguan in Guangdong Province.
SO (SOS) self-riveting through-hole nuts are widely used in the inlaying process of metal sheets, control boxes and power cabinets. Its structure is special. When assembling, only the nut column is put into the hole of the metal plate, which is realized by "riveting" operation. It has the following advantages:
1. It realizes the length guarantee of distance range, greatly simplifies the assembly process, and speeds up the production progress of assembly spacing panels and accessories.
2. The back of the sheet metal is completely inlaid, and the head of the nut column and the plane of the sheet metal are smooth at the same time.
3. The raw materials are free-cutting iron or stainless steel.
1. When selecting nuts, the hardness of low carbon steel plate must be less than 70RB and that of stainless steel plate must be less than 80RB, depending on the thickness and size range of the plate used.
2. Free-cutting iron surface treatment, stainless steel to maintain the primary color, users can according to the needs of the model specifications in the table ordered, but also according to the needs of special customization.
3. The hole size of sheet metal must be machined according to the tolerance size of 0-+0.075 mm. Punching is recommended.
4. Installation must be accomplished through "riveting" operation. No impact tapping is allowed.
5. When stainless steel is used as material, the tail number is marked with "S".
6. The end face of nut column is straight tooth, which is expressed by "C".
7. The length of through-hole nut post is less than 10 mm, and it can be enlarged at hexagonal end face (type I) or round end face (type II) above 10 mm.
